This week's GWEB member highlight is Marlees, who also goes by lucky_marlees.

Age: 15; Sophmore

Many favorite movies... including almost all romantic comedies (good good ones and good bad ones). Books: Harry Potter, anything at all be Sarah Dessen.. or Meg Cabot.. A lot of favorites there too.

Favorite Quote: "People will stare; give them something to look at" which is funny because it's from a perfume ad... Music: Whatever is stuck in my head this week..

Inspirational People/Role Models: Not one person in particular.. Erin Gruwell who taught the class which wrote the Freedom Writer's diary. Harriet Tubman, my mom, my grandma.. the list goes on and on. There are many people I admire for different aspects of their lives, hard to single out just a few....

Activities/Hobbies: Acting and dancing in public or private. Singing (but mostly when no one is listening). I sail recreationally and on a team (you don't know cold until you're trying to untie knots in the pouring rain on a windy dock). I like to write but only when I'm the right mood. I read a lot and I run when I can (weather and injury allowing). And I love to perform, especially when I can combine acting and dancing. Oh, pets! I have two dogs and four birds, at the moment, all of whom get along really well, unless the dog catches a bird in which case he gets yelled at... by the bird.

Career Dreams: I would love to be an actress in my wilder dreams. But with reality in mind, I'll most likely become a writer or journalist. But on the other hand I'd also like to dance (modern). Or combination. Ask me again in 30 years.

Inspiration: The most random things inspire (generally at 3am). But in general it is experiences and emotions which inspire me most.

Fears: Failure most of all, also disappointing myself and the people who count on me. Mostly, I'm most scared of being unhappy and unproductive and not being able to change it/

Dream Travel Destination: A multiple part trip to Hawaii, Australia, England, Ireland, and Italy.. and the Bahamas! Though they might seem a little random, at one time or another each place was where I wanted to go most. And, except for the Bahamas I can speak the languages there.

Randomness: I hiccup. A lot. Loudly. All the time. Well, not all the time but a many times a day. I've tried all the tricks but they just keep coming back.. and it's been over a year. So if you have a miracle cure.. let me know! :)

Greatest Achievement: I have three. First off, a couple of years ago I had the chance to host and produce a real radio show. Months of work for one half hour show. Then, passing review panels with honors. Basically, to graduate middle school you had to prove you'd worked hard and really grown. Two years of work for one hour. Both culminated in a performance and were some of the proudest moments of my life. And getting published in New Moon was an incredible eye-opening experience.

Love about Orb28: The sense of community and respect. Meeting all these new people the world seems bigger and smaller at the same time.

Funniest Moment: We were roasting marshmallows. We gave my friend the box of matches and asked my friend to light it and throw it in. He lit one match and threw the whole box in! Alright maybe you had to be there....

Other Creative: I write poetry and had this one truly corny poem published in a very small book.
