It's a short post for lucky_marlees tonight as I must be off to deliver a certain cousin his birthday punches...
I realized we've missed one big topic, so I thought I'd jump in really quick and bring it up. The 2008 Beijing Olympics! The games aren't over yet but already a lot has happened. The opening ceremony, for instance, stirred up a lot of controversy, partially because of a lip-syncing debacle
(

On the sports side (which really should be the focus) Michael Phelps has crushed numerous world records and bagged more gold medals (in a single Olympics and in his entire career) than any other Olympic athlete to date! But swimming is one of the favored sports that we see on TV. It’s almost impossible to miss some type of swimming, gymnastics, or beach volley. While there sports are popular and fun to watch, I’d also like to see some table tennis and, please, please, more track and field (though, as a runner I may be a tad biased). In my house, Olympic coverage is on almost 24/7, the medal race closely watched (

And (just to touch on this) politics between China and the world are also being brought up a lot during The Games. Are you guys watching? Why do you think some sports are covered and others aren’t? Thoughts?
