I'm going to forego the regular Friday story ideas this week because I have two exciting items to pass on. First,
check out Social Butterfly's post on New Moon Girl Media. Yay! Thanks so much, Social Butterfly, for helping us spread the word!
I also want to let you know that next week, we'll be welcoming guest bloggers from the Women2Women Cultural Connection Leadership Conference. The conference actually starts tomorrow and will run through next week. Here's more information from Kara, one of the conference organizers:
"On August 9th (tomorrow!!!), 2008, 80 young women from
14 different countries will join together in Boston, Massachusetts at the
Women2Women Cultural Connection and Leadership Conference (W2W). Each young lady will come and live in a dorm room for 1 week with another participant from a completely different background, religion, school, and country. During the week, the young women will attend workshops, acquire professional skills, participate in panel discussions, incorporate cultural leadership skills, listen to keynote speakers, get a taste of American culture, make lifelong friendships, and take a step in changing the world! The participants will travel to the Massachusetts State House, shop at the mall, go on a Whale Watch Boat Cruise, participate in Community Service at a Hospital or Food Bank, and take a Self-Defense Class. The goal of the conference is to provide young women with the opportunity to learn, network, and acquire the leadership and professional development skills needed to succeed."
Sounds cool to me; I look forward to hearing what the participants have to say.
