Hey orb 28! My name is Aida, and for the next week or so I’m going to be report from the 2008 Women’s World Congress (Mundo de Mujeres) in Madrid, Spain. You may be wondering what exactly that is. The Women’s world Congress is a meeting that brings together women and girls from all over the world to discuss issues that involve them.

Every day there will be presentations, films, discussions, and I’ve heard there’s a teen group that goes on outings around the beautiful city of Madrid. But honestly, I really don’t know what to expect.

After 15 hours of travel, we arrived in Madrid, Spain early this morning. I had terrible jet lag, so I came to my hotel and went straight to sleep. Tomorrow is the start of the Congress, although, I think it’s only a preliminary meeting for registration. I think there may be cultural events too.
