Today was the last day of school for me! Tonight we have 8th grade graduation where we all wear elegant dresses and walk in to Pomp and Circumstance. But today was more relaxed. We dressed crazily. (My friends and I wore our Pink Lady jackets) We sit in front on the whole school, all the people we have know for nine years and get awards. Most schools do some sort of awards but most of this time it is like "Most Likely to Succeed", "Class Clown" or " Best Smile".
While we have awards, we don't do it like that. No one has more chance to succeed and no one's smile is prettier. Three of our teachers get together and come up with a famous person throughout history who has the same admirable qualities as each student. This only works because we have such a small school but I think it is a wonderful idea.
I got the Gloria Steinem award. For those of you who don't know of her, she is an awesome woman and most definitely a feminist. She was and is very politically active. She's a journalist and the founder of Ms. magazine. I'm proud to be her and now that I think about it there is no one I would rather be. But what if I was picking who I myself would be? I think that my teachers know me so well and they're right.
With that all said. I want to know who you people would be. Some of my friends are Diana Spencer (Princess of Whales ), Joan Baez (folk singer) , and Lucy Ricardo (from I Love Lucy). There are thousands more of influential people. What high qualities do you think you have that compare to people?
